hi.. I think the Kompang is very useful too! I think it is quite fun to learn how to play a malay instrument. with the instrument, we can also form our own Kompang ensemble, or even dikir barat team. i researched online and found that the Kompang is used in many malay music performances, such as dances and dikir barat. we can then be able to have more colourful performances and experience.
